Overview of Healthcare Waste Management @ the HCWM Workshop, DGH Trincomalee – 1st Nov 2015
Established the first ever Cardiology Unit, Geriatric Unit, Orthopedic unit, Rehabilitation unit, Waste Management System and Primary Healthcare unit in the hospital.
Implemented the first ever Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) in the country.(Project worth : USD 112,000)
Up gradation of the Maternal and Child Health Care Units, Primary Baby Care Units and Neonatal ICUs.
Initiated the renovation and refurbishment of the Hospital’s wards and quarter & improving the existing medical and surgical unit to be elderly friendly units.
Expansion of the ICU to 12 beds, CLSD services, Laboratory & Blood bank.
Development of an Accident and Emergency Unit, Cancer unit with Hospice, Multidisciplinary unit.
Current status: moved to New Zealand recently and looking for jobs in the related field
Experience at IIHS:
IIHS gave an excellent environment for learning and the supportive staff made things easy. Special mention to Dr. Kithsiri who actually identified the potential I had as an administrator and encouraged me right throughout to achieve what I have so far done.
What are the advantages of IIHS learning useful in terms of cost of education: IIHS International courses for a price that was affordable for many of us. Due to the cost effectiveness I was able to gain my masters’ degree at IIHS.
