Bachelor in Early Childhood Education

The Bachelor in Early Childhood Education degree gives you a solid foundation to take your career just about anywhere. Children Learning and Development is the main focus of Early Childhood Education. It is also aimed to develop the specialist skills and knowledge gained through the completion of Diploma in Early Childhood Education. Our main goal is to provide the student with lifelong learning opportunities by engaging in the learning environment at competitive and affordable cost.
Faculty of Education, Open University of Malaysia, and its Colombo Campus offer Bachelor in Early Childhood Education degree to cater to the needs of teachers of English as a Second Language in the system. This degree is approved and recognized by University Grants Commission and MQA (Malaysian Qualification Authority).
Aims:
- To promote academic and career development of principals, administrators, teachers, care takers, child minders and those involve with young learners, especially in the teaching of English as a second language.
- To ensure that they have the necessary and enriched knowledge about children development and assessment curriculum content, child arts and music, learning and pedagogy, health and safety and ECE management skills.
- To equip students with pedagogical knowledge and skills in teaching of English as a second language.
- To equip students with knowledge of the assessment methodology related to teaching of English as a second language.
Entry qualification:
GCE Advanced Level, Ordinary Level or Diploma in Primary Teaching.
